Tips for Enjoying Your Chocolate
To enjoy fine chocolate like Godiva you need to look, smell and taste.  First to look, excellent
chocolates has consistency in color and a natural sheen free of blemishes. Good chocolates also
display craftsmanship in shapes and designs.

Regarding smell, the savoring of fine chocolate begins by taking in the bouquet. A fresh, deep
aroma is not overly-perfumed and neither does it have a sugary smell of artificial flavors or
preservatives.

Lastly with taste, chocolate should have intense but refined flavors yet likely rich with nuances of
very subtle tastes whether of fruit or flower or spice.  And with couverture  chocolate the piece
should snap when you bite into it.

And when tasting chocolate, let it melt against the roof of your mouth to feel the texture. A quality
chocolate is exceptionally smooth without graininess. Roll the chocolate over your tongue, allowing
the flavors to permeate your mouth. The initial taste should be a nutty, roasted chocolate flavor,
followed by sweetness and other flavor components. Lastly, fine chocolates tend to have a longer
"finish" or pleasant after-taste that lingers on the palate.
