Fruit and chocolate have been combined in many different ways over the years, but few are quite as successful as the Terry’s Chocolate Orange. This product has been one of the world’s most iconic and popular chocolate treats since it was first developed in 1932 at the Chocolate Works factory in York, England. This unique chocolate product is designed with pieces of chocolate in the shape of an orange. Individual segments are combined at the center and removed just as with an orange. There’s even a fun interactive way to separate the segments; according to tradition, Terry’s Chocolate Orange should first be hit firmly against a hard surface so that the sections fall away from the center. In fact, one of the company’s slogans is “Whack and unwrap!”
